Editorial standards

These rules sit above any individual byline. They are how we try to deserve a reader's time in a field crowded with vendor blogs.

Independence

Staff are not paid by software vendors, pharmacy chains or telehealth marketplaces to write about those products. If a writer has a financial interest, it is disclosed at the top of the piece. We do not sell rankings.

What this site is not

We are not a substitute for a GP, pharmacist, psychologist or Aboriginal community-controlled health service. Articles may describe public programs and clinical common sense. They do not diagnose you and they do not authorise a medicine.

Sources

Prefer primary documents: MBS news, the Australian Digital Health Agency, the Department of Health, OAIC, AHPRA, NDSS, state health departments. When we summarise a rule we say that rules change and the reader should check the current page. We do not invent statistics.

Corrections

If we get a fact wrong, we fix the article and note the change on this page or in the piece. Write to us via the contact form with the topic "Correction" and a link to the passage.

Sponsored material

Advertising and paid guest posts, if accepted, are labelled. Links that are paid or affiliate use rel="sponsored". See the guest-post guidelines.

Photographs are Creative Commons or public domain, hosted on this site, and credited on the article and on the credits page.

AI tools

Editors may use software to check structure and links. Every article is read by a human editor against these standards before it is filed in the journal. We do not publish unsourced clinical protocols.
