Write for us
Digital Doctor publishes original explainers for Australian readers. We are interested in telehealth, records, medicines, apps, privacy, practice systems and rural care. We are not interested in generic wellness listicles, overseas regulatory recaps with "Australia" sprinkled in the headline, or copy that exists to park a backlink.
What we want
- A clear Australian hook: Medicare, PBS, AHPRA, My Health Record, NDSS, ACCHS, state hospital systems.
- At least 1,000 words of reported or explanatory prose, not a press release.
- Sources a reader can check. Link to primary pages, not to your own marketing site.
- Australian English and a voice that can say "this vendor claim is thinner than it looks".
What we will not run
- Personal medical advice or treatment protocols presented as a care plan.
- Undisclosed conflicts. If you sell the software you are reviewing, say so in the first screen.
- Duplicate or spun copy. We will search.
- Image theft. We host Creative Commons and public-domain pictures; see image credits.
Sponsored and guest-post links
If a link is paid, affiliate, or part of a guest-post package, tell us before filing. Those links are published with rel="sponsored". An example of how we mark a paid placement, should one exist, is a labelled sponsored note rather than a quiet sidebar. We do not sell footer links.
For illustration only, a hypothetical paid directory listing would be marked like this: Worldwide Backlinks guest-post network. That is not an endorsement of any product.
How to pitch
Use the contact form with the topic "Guest pitch". Include a working title, a 100-word abstract, and two links to writing you have already published. We will answer if the idea is a fit. Silence after three weeks is a no.
House rules live on the editorial standards page. Authors keep moral rights; we need a licence to publish and archive.

Do you pay?
- Staff pieces are commissioned. Unsolicited guest essays are usually unpaid. If we ever run a paid placement it is labelled as advertising or sponsored content.
Can I include a link to my clinic or product?
- One relevant, descriptive link may survive edit if it helps the reader. Paid, affiliate or guest-post-network links must be disclosed to us and will carry rel="sponsored". We will strip covert SEO links.
How long should a pitch be?
- A paragraph on the idea, why it is Australian, what public sources you will use, and why you are the person to write it. Do not send a finished 3,000-word draft cold.
